SUSANNA SOUTHWORTH PhD, JD

Restore the Child, PLLC

SUSANNA advocate for the rights of survivors of sex trafficking and child sexual abuse material. I aim to support survivors in their healing process by helping them secure restitution and civil judgments through litigation.

If you had to choose a single word that captures your current approach to leadership, what would it be and why?

Empowering. I aim to empower my team at Restore the Child, PLLC, to effectuate a positive outcome for survivors that will also empower our clients in their healing journey.

How have you and your team continued (or adapted) your efforts to give back to the community over the past year?

We give back by supporting nonprofit organizations that empower survivors through their work, like CHILD USA and Rotary International.

Reflecting on the last year, what new quote, book, or piece of advice has most influenced you as a woman leader? Why did it resonate with you, and how have you applied it in your community work?

Find the joy in learning. Practicing law requires a positive attitude toward learning and growing in both knowledge and skills in the challenging and dynamic field of trial work.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, which woman (past or present) continues to inspire your work as a community leader, and why?

Retired State Supreme Court Justice Faith Ireland, who is a leader in Rotary, a legal scholar, and who dedicates her time to empowering other women as a life coach.
